The Art of a Contractor Have you ever thought of building as a type of artwork? If you were to interact with a few construction workers or contractors, and then talk to them about their work, you might come to see it this way. Designing and building a whole structure requires some sort of artistic intellect. It might be a different sort of artistry than one would use to create a painting or a drawing, but it is art nonetheless. On this blog, we are going to write about construction and contractors. We aim to do that from a range of perspectives, which should keep things interesting.

Water Damage in the Attic

If you go into your attic and see signs of mold, mildew, and wetness, this water is coming from a leak in your roof. Look at the rafters in your attic to see if they are damp. Go up in the attic when it is raining to see if you see water leaking. If you do not take care of this, you will end up with a lot of damage in your attic resulting in high repair bills, along with the costs of replacing your roof.

A roofing contractor can inspect your attic and your roof to determine if there are any leaks. There are some cases where a leak can be repaired but if the roof is older this would be a good time to replace it with a new one. This is especially true if there are a lot of leaks in different areas on the roof.

Sagging Roof

If you see your roof is sagging, it is time to replace it. Sagging is caused by trapped moisture getting under the shingles. This rots the boards that are under your roof. Once this rot happens, these boards will sag, causing your entire roof to start sagging. You can inspect the surface of your roof and look for signs of trapped water. Go into the attic and look for sagging rafters.

Stand back away from your home to get a good view of your roof. You may need to go across your street. Make sure you look at the roof from different angles. You should see straight lines so if you notice sagging contact a roofing contractor immediately. They will likely suggest you replace the roof with a new one.

There are many more signs that you need to replace your roof that your roofing contractor can tell you about. The roofing installation contractor can also go over the different options you have when replacing a roof.
